Wednesday, August 25, 2010 in Sussex County, Delaware, the first DE Green for Green Rebate Check was funded to the lucky home buyers who settled on a NGBS Silver Certified home built by Silverstock Builders in the "green" community of Silver Woods. Silverstock Homes continues to lead the way in Green Building firsts being recognized as the first NAHB certified "green" home in Delaware and the 1st home in the nation to receive "gold" certification from the NAHB National Green building program. The National Green Building Standard (NGBS) program, formerly the NAHB Green Building Certification program, that the Green Building Council of Delaware supports and promotes is the largest growing residential Green Building Program in our state, and possibly the nation. . We anticipate approximately 150 homes to be certified green for the NGBS program in Delaware in 2010, most of which may qualify and receive up to $6,000 cash rebates at the closing issued to the home buyers for the green certifications of their new homes, based on the guidelines of the program.
